Requirements

  • Regulation – read, interpret, and implement new environmental laws
  • Air permitting – strategize, prepare, and submit air permit applications including emissions calculations and modeling (Title V with SUIT, mNSR with EPA, CDPHE, NMED)
  • Air monitoring/testing – coordinate engine monitoring and testing and FLIR inspections
  • Compliance reporting – prepare and submit required state and federal emissions inventories, monitoring reports, and compliance reports (JJJJ, OOOOa, HH, ZZZZ, Part 98, SARA, Regulation 7, 19.15.27, 20.2.50, 20.2.73, permit specific)
  • Agency inspections – prepare for and facilitate inspections, respond to and support resolution of findings
  • Effectively communicate and negotiate with local, state, federal, and tribal agencies
  • Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, from field level to senior management
  • Coordinate other areas of environmental compliance including SPCC, stormwater, and domestic water wells
  • Provide backup support for spill response and waste as well as health and safety

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree, engineering degree preferred
  • 10 years of experience in environmental with strong project management skills 
  • Oil and gas industry air quality experience
  • FLIR certification preferred
  • Practices and encourages open, honest, and timely communication
  • Lead and foster a culture of ethical behavior that supports compliance programs with federal, state, local, and tribal environmental regulations
  • 90% office work
  • 10% field work in New Mexico and Colorado
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours
  • Self-starter with sound judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
