Position Summary

Manages various accounting functions including ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, revenue and asset accounting, and payroll as well as associated analysis and reporting. Evaluates and makes improvements to accounting processes while ensuring that practices comply with organization accounting policies and applicable laws and regulations. Leads and directs accounting professional and support staff, and manages staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project and department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.

Position Duties

  1. Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Implement consistent accounting policies, practices and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new and future legislation.
  3. Develop, implement and monitor internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures and workflow.
  4. Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a bi-weekly, monthly and annual basis.
  5. Manage banking processes both internally and with our bank. From time-to-time evaluate alternatives to existing banking relationship.
  6. Provide oversight and support for the cost accounting function including variance analysis, standard cost updates, overhead rate analysis and related activities.
  7. Support sales team with analysis of bills of materials costs, quantity breaks for pricing, and impact of proposals on cost standards and overhead allocation. Review cost estimates and supporting documents for completeness.
  8. Coordinate with CPA firm to accomplish audit tasks and to support tax return preparation.
  9. Manage and oversee payroll and 401(k) savings plan with assistance from support staff on day-to-day operations.
  10. Oversee and support North American accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity. Perform the usual duties of a manager as it relates to hiring, providing coaching and feedback, performance management, and employee relations.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 years of proven accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2 or more years of management/leadership experience
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in accounting software (Epicor preferred)
