We are currently seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join our team at our corporate office located in Irvine, CA. The Business Systems Analyst works with business partners across multiple business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies. Supports one or more highly complex business processes, requiring planning, design or integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of the business. This position will assist user departments in gathering and documenting requirements, developing and managing the solution planning throughout the development lifecycle as well as independently manage delivery for smaller projects. Additionally, the position provides support to other IT dev-ops related functions including but not limited to LMS administration, resolving helpdesk support tickets, developing reports, and minor SQL database management. Principle duties and responsibilities:

• Analyzes business functions such as operations, finance, marketing, human resources, and others in order to recommend new or modified information processing systems.
• Consults with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security requirements.
• Improves systems by studying current practices, designing modifications.
• Writes and maintains functional specifications for new or modified business systems.
• Confers and coordinates with programmers and other personnel to design and develop automated business systems.
• Develops and conducts test scenarios to test business and functional processes during system development and quality assurance testing.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing with business users and gather stakeholder’s approval.
• Monitors, researches, resolves and documents post-implementation problems and revision requests.
• Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
• Coordinates activities with team and project management personnel to ensure project goals and requirements are met as well as progresses on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinates integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
• Serve as the system administrator for the Moodle Learning Management System.
• Provide the day-to-day operational support by triage, assess and provide solutions for tickets submitted by users related to LMS and core SMS systems.
• Manage configuration and implementation of LMS and SMS releases.
• Mock up and define user flowcharts, navigational structure, and information architecture for customizations.
• Provide training of new software functionality to business sustainment team.
• Participate in LMS solution design and operational meetings, both internally and with clients.
• Evaluate business needs and provide recommendations for enhancements, customizations or upgrade to the LMS and SMS.
• Research extensions and enhancements available for LMS and other open-source platforms and keep abreast of new technologies to assess trends.
• Work with product owner to design and maintain reports for LMS and SMS systems.
• Perform minor database maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management/Computer Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or information technology or equivalent engineering field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with Learning Management Systems or Student Management Systems administration and configuration.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an analytics role.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with Structured Query Language (SQL).
• Demonstrated knowledge of analytics reporting tools such as Tableau, Qlik, SSRS or Business Objects
• Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, written and oral communication, and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented.
• Comfortable working in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong data management abilities.
• Experience with JIRA preferred.
• Helpdesk experience preferred
