IDS International is looking for a Finance and Accounting Manager to be an important contributor to IDS’ finance and accounting department. As a successful candidate, you will work under the Vice President of Finance in managing all financial operations of the company. Ideally, this position will be able to periodically work in our Arlington office, but could be remote for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares accounting entries for typical business transactions, including entering expenses and performing allocations
• Performs account reconciliations and assists with the monthly closing process
• Develops financial reports and schedules as part of monthly package and annual audit process
• Manages the preparation of statements and bills and delivery to customers.
• Maintains and/or ensures maintenance of customer records related to invoicing and bill payment.
• Reviews work of billing staff to ensure accuracy, resolving inconsistencies as needed.
• Creates and provides a prioritized list of customers to be invoiced.
• Drafts and distributes monthly reports of invoicing and billing metrics.
• Ensures that all billing actions comply with company, local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Provides customer support to customers with disputes or inquiries concerning invoices or billing process.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Associates degree or higher in Accounting or Finance, or related business area.
• 6 years of related experience required.
• Knowledge of Accounting principles/GAAP and their applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.
• Ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations.
• Ability to maintain records and produce reports.
• Extreme attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Jamis Prime ERP system desired.

Physical Demands:

Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.

Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing. Most positions require ability to work on a desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time. Computer activities include reading, reviewing and analyzing information, as well as providing recommendations, summaries, and reports in written or verbal format. Additionally, positions require ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; as well as speak and hear.
