Responsibilities

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the financial integrity of the Justice and Public Security (JPS) business line within IDEMIA North America. He/She will work closely with Senior Analysts, Program Managers, Delivery & Sustaining Engineering (DNS), and Accounting teams, as well as the Business Line leaders to provide financial insight and reporting on the performance of the organization. The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist and take ownership of financial related matters of the business lines from pre-contract to execution, forecast activity on a monthly basis, and report actual performance. This role is a hybrid of accounting and financial analysis.

  • Maintain and improve revenue recognition control environment and ensure that revenue is appropriately recognized in accordance with ASC 606/ IFRS 15 using an Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Assist in the month-end financial statement closing process – record journal entries including revenue, accruals, liabilities, and other related expenses to the appropriate programs
  • Ownership of specific GL accounts, understand the activity and perform monthly reconciliations (i.e. interest expense/deferred interest, revenue/deferred revenue, etc.)
  • Perform reconciliations of Project related balance sheet accounts
  • Analyze Project expenses, gross margin, and EBITDA to identify financial waste
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting, trend and variance analysis, and other financial metrics (KPI’s) to support Program Managers and Business Line leaders
  • Understand our large program contracts and translate the information into financial metrics – pricing, total revenue, yearly revenue, billing milestones, etc.
  • Assist in building and maintaining a current To Be Invoiced (TBI) schedule to provide transparency of revenue pipeline
  • Ownership and control of providing employees Project access to charge labor and expenses
  • Analyze financial statement accounts, identify unusual trends or erroneous entries, and verify accuracy of transactions and balances
  • Assist in improving workflow processes to ensure speed and accuracy of pertinent financial information
  • Assist in external and internal financial audits
  • Perform ad hoc account analysis and reporting, as necessary
  • Assist in upcoming ERP conversion – will include data scrubbing, account mapping, etc.
  • Assist in company or department initiatives, such as implementing new software or reporting tools where needed

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance; solid understanding of US GAAP and IFRS
  • Public accounting experience a plus
  • 3 years of progressive Accounting experience with solid understanding of monthly close process required
  • Project accounting experience a plus; GL analytical skills required
  • Excellent problem solving skills and self starter
  • Advanced Excel skills – pivot tables, slicers, vlookup, index match, macros, VBA, etc.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently
  • Understanding of metrics/KPIs and financial terms related to manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the finance team and partner with key business stakeholders
  • Ability to develop, analyze, report, and interpret large data sets
  • Excellent customer service attitude, communication skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong PC skills including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains preferred, or Tier 1 and 2 ERP system experience
  • Experience in MS Dynamics365, Adaptive Insights, or TM1, a plus
  • Knowledge or experience in SQL querying, a plus
