IDAHO MILK PRODUCTS is Hiring a Sales Representative Near Jerome, ID

Schedule:

  • Days, subject to change according to business needs. 


Travel:

  • 50% with occasional periods of up to 70%.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Representative executes the sales strategy for the Milk Protein Concentrate and Milk Permeate Product business. He/she will actively build business with new customers, while also developing and maintaining long-term positive relationships with existing customers. Delivers new sales and sales price improvement. Works to achieve target sales revenue and growth in line with company goals. Establishes tactical plans to expand profitability by customer and expands the customer base within assigned market segments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares plans for effective search of new customers. Develops a pipeline of sales leads and prospects for existing and new products within assigned area.
  • Manages the initial follow-up process for all incoming web and phone leads.
  • Prepares and presents presentations and proposals to customers and prospects. 
  • Maintains accurate records of all interactions, pricings, sales, etc. within customer resource management program. 
  • Evaluates performance by customer; closely manages accounts within assigned market area.
  • Maintains close communication within the industry to stay abreast of competitive activity, pricing and market trends; monitors customer preferences to ensure alignment on sales efforts.
  • Represents company and promotes products at conferences and trade shows.
  • Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines. 
  • Maintains positive and effective working relationships with other members of the Idaho Milk products team.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned. 


POSITION SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: 

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Business, or related field

Preferred Experience:

  • 2 or more years of experience in Sales, Account Management, Customer Service, or other related field with demonstrated ability in building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Understanding of dairy and food industry market dynamics and requirements.
  • Experience selling products and influencing others.
  • Experience giving presentations on technical subjects.
  • Experience presenting concepts and samples appropriately to customers.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to cold call, find leads and contacts, make connections and develop customer prospects.
  • Personable with interest in cooperating and building positive relationships with customers and colleagues in all functional disciplines.
  • Effective at time management and able to organize work to ensure a focus on the most important business priorities.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills - with ability to understand and translate customer requirements and ability to negotiate alternatives that are acceptable to both supplier and customer.
  • Tenacious self-starter that works well with demanding time schedules. 
  • Proven ability to operate independently and also as a member of a team to achieve results; enthusiastic, committed and conscientious.
  • Interested in learning new things. Ambitious, quick learner.
  • Strong computer literacy and quantitative skills to enter data, process and communicate information.

Working Conditions:

  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license, proof of liability insurance and maintain an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicle record, in accordance with company insurance requirements.
