Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine is Hiring a Director of Compliance Near Meridian, ID

The Director of Compliance is responsible for the management, monitoring, and administration of the compliance plan and related processes of ICOM. The Director will report directly to the Vice President, Finance and Administration/CFO and maintain close working relations with the President/CEO, Dean/CAO, and Chief Legal Officer. General responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the continued development, implementation, and management of an effective compliance program in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, consistent with current best practice and guidance.
  • Update and ensure organization-wide attention and conformance to the ICOM Compliance Plan.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of accreditation reporting and required state and federal reporting.
  • Support and facilitate ICOM’s accreditation application to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and the coordination of activities related to the preparation, follow-up, and reporting required by accreditation standards and processes.
  • Oversee, manage, and assist in the development and maintenance of ICOM policies, rules, regulations, and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Track applicable laws and regulations that affect ICOM operations and anticipate emerging compliance needs and trends.
  • Assist in coordinating, monitoring, and documenting accreditation, institutional assessment, and/or compliance activities of ICOM.
  • Develop compliance plans/strategies that advance the College’s objectives.
  • Maintain statistical and other compliance records and prepare related reports.
  • Provide regular reports as prescribed in the ICOM Compliance Plan to College leaders and the Board.
  • Monitor the ICOM reporting/grievance process to ensure appropriate routing and follow-through; assist efforts to establish an incident reporting system.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree(s) in business/public administration or related field from a U.S. accredited college/university or foreign equivalent. Masters or doctorate degree(s) in business/public administration or related field from a U.S. accredited college/university or foreign equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with the public, students, employees, and government officials.
  • Knowledge and/or experience involving accreditation and/or compliance responsibilities in an academic institution to include a demonstrated understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Professional work experience in accreditation, compliance, and institutional assessment preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory statutes, guidelines, and directives relevant to assigned programs.
  • Experience in developing reports and completing surveys.
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relations working with diverse groups of individuals.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, and to communicate effectively as required with all levels within the College, with students, and with regulatory agencies and legal counsel.
