This is a partially remote position. Candidates located in the Kansas City metro area will be preferred.Purpose:The Mechanical Project Engineer will assist with the promotion, sales, and application of the IBT material handling product line. This position will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, installation, and commissioning of turnkey automated systems, focusing primarily on unit handling conveyor, screw conveyor and bulk handling conveyors.Major Responsibilities:Participation in the sales process, including sales calls, cost estimation and proposal creationMechanical concept and design, equipment specification, CAD detailing, purchasing, and documentationOn-site supervision of millwrights and other contractors, as well as on-site commissioning will be requiredProject management responsibilities will be assigned as warrantedKnowledge/Experience: BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience will be accepted3-5 years of experience in material handling systems design or equivalent experienceBasic understanding of material handling systems, specifically unit handling conveyors, screw conveyor and bulk handling conveyors. Candidates will be considered with experience in any of these areas but will need to be willing to learn all conveyor types.Ability to fully design and document mechanical designs using AutoCADWillingness and ability to travel up to 30%Skills/Attributes: Ability to work with little supervision and meet deadlinesExcellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively perform during a sales presentation and respond to branch and customer questionsStrong PC skills with the ability to use technology to improve efficiency and effectively communicate informationA willing can do attitude whose primary role is to provide IBT branches and customers with application, technical, sales, marketing and training support.
