Job Title Software Test Engineer Job Family Job Description SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER HYG is looking for individuals seeking to grow their professional career in embedded software verification and validation. This role will test embedded software for industrial equipment, in both lab and test track settings. We are looking to expand our software test team both in numbers and in the scope of test methods. In scope today are bench testing on target hardware (Truck-On-A-Bench), shop testing on stationary equipment, and some testing by driving on our test tracks. Depending on skills and interests, there will be opportunities to define and develop automated testing as we grow that capability. Responsibilities: Develop, test, and follow up development activities to ensure that the engineering outputs meet the quality, reliability, performance, and cost expectations of the customer, for the following systems: Vehicle Control Software On Board Vehicle Diagnostic Software Vehicle CAN Networks ICE and Electric Vehicle Electrical Systems General Embedded Software Functionality Electrical Component Behavior Minimum Requirements BS in Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Technology or similar Experience testing software Experience testing or troubleshooting electronics Willing and able to test software by operating industrial equipment Desired Experience and Skills Experience testing embedded software Familiar with software defect reporting systems and processes Familiar with industrial or automotive communication protocols such as CANOpen, J1939 Familiar with material handling equipment e.g. Fork Trucks Familiar with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins Familiar with Python, Windows shell commands Other desired qualities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Note this role will be on-site at our Fairview, OR facility, with limited remote work days.
