Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport is Hiring a Payroll Accountant Near Los Angeles, CA

Generalist is responsible to ensure that documents and data are accurate and correctly processed through various accounting systems according to established standards. Updates computerized management information systems and produces various accounting reports. 

Duties and Job Functions: 

  • Oversee the Payroll process to ensure deadlines for submissions are met and in accordance with pay cycles. 
  • Monitor Garnishments including child support orders, liens, state and federal levies
  • Assist Accounting Manager with month end accruals and journal entries.
  • Perform financial data analysis.
  • Communicate directly w/Front Office and F&B team members on any training issues concerning accounting.
  • Provide coverage for Income Audit, AR, and General Cashier functions as business needs require.
  • Assist with balance sheet asset and liability reconciliations.
  • Assist with processing all tax packets to corporate for month end reporting.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Attend meetings/training as required by management
  • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Prism standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes proper dress and correct nametag when working.
  • Comply at all times with Prism standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers, and other team members.

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED certification required.
  • College degree is preferred, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven financial knowledge and computer skills required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Long hours sometimes required, including nights and weekends.
  • Light work-Exerting 20 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry,
  • push, pull or otherwise move objects

Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly, both oral and written.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests.
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of a particular need.
  • Must be able to prioritize departmental functions to meet due dates and deadlines.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic function
