This involves maintaining an organizational infrastructure that supports and manages the day to day business in an efficient manner. Drive best practices, processes and systems so as to ensure capability to meet current business needs as well as providing ability to scale efficiently to meet future growth plans. Implement and drive programs to allow the company to achieve continuous improvement in areas of cost, product quality and reliability. Provide leadership and operational credibility and be visible with employees, suppliers, strategic partners and customers. Collaborate with development engineering to ensure products are optimized for manufacturability, volume, reliability and cost. Recruit, train, develop and provide leadership to the engineering staff. Responsibilities & Duties: Instill a strong sense of organization focus, balance and discipline within the engineering organization Ensure the timely flow of evaluated information to executive staff Develop robust and efficient manufacturing and qualifications systems that can ensure products and processes are manufacturable and can be subsequently ramped to volume and transferred to offshore manufacturing plants Implement and lead yield improvement and process control initiatives ensuring continuous and predictable process improvement Implement accurate supplier monitoring processes and systems to allow the company to meet build schedules Drive cross qualification and integration of process equipment and tools across the operation. Also, will be involved in identifying and selecting equipment and bringing up tools that support and scale the business Experience/Education: 10-15 yrs in increasing more responsible technical and manufacturing management roles Experience within high volume materials and process related technology businesses, examples would include data storage components, semiconductor, MEMS, battery and solar industries Previous director level experience managing development and manufacturing engineering teams Previous technical experience in chemistry or material science related disciplines Experience and understanding of manufacturing execution systems within high tech process manufacturing environments The successful candidate has employed processes that effectively incorporated metrics by which progress against plan could be accurately measured resulting in greater predictability and repeatability Demonstrated success in a company respected for operational and technical excellence, innovation, quality of product, quality of management and financial performance. BS or MS Degree in Engineering Skills/Characteristics Highly creative and intelligent, excellent problem solving skills Must value people and will build a collaborative environment that promotes teamwork Possess a background and style that elicits respect in the organization through management style, technical depth and communication skills Good business judgment.
