Hurley Medical Center is Hiring a Hurley Breast Nurse Navigator Near Flint, MI

Schedule: 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Summary:

Plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates continuum of care for patients with breast disease and other cancers. The Breast Nurse Navigator works collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the patient has access to adequate resources and services and will identify, collect, and evaluate outcome data as needed for the cancer programs as well as serve as a resource for all services required to facilitate quality cancer care. Partners with marketing and Foundation for cancer promotions and events. Complies with all appropriate safety and infection control standards. Participates in quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities. Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a courteous and customer-focused manner according to the Hurley Family Standards of Behavior.

Works under the general supervision of the Care Coordination Director who reviews work for effectiveness.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Business/Public/Health Care Administration, or other related degree.
  • Three (3) years of professional nursing experience, breast cancer or oncology nursing preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of oncology principles, OCN preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Mental and physical health to meet demands of the position.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with physicians
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, subordinates, other Medical Center employees, physicians, patients, and the general public.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

  • State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
