Overview

Oversees individual or group training of associates on all the daily operational accounting entries related to accounts receivable and accounts payable. Tracks and evaluates daily department tasks. Supervise and monitor goal achievement for direct reports. Manage and assign tasks to direct reports. Interfaces with various internal departments. Drives the continuous improvement initiatives or other projects as assigned. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage AP team- delegate AP workload to the team and review work as needed
  • Enforcement of proper accounting methods, policies, and procedures; providing recommendations for improvement 
  • Ability to multi-task effectively while upholding deadlines set forth
  • Active participation in various company meetings serving as representation for the Accounts Payable department
  • Interaction with other sub-units and supervisors within the company to resolve internal process issues relative to Accounts Payable
  • Initiation of vendor payments via ACH, wire, or checks
  • Preparation and delivery of year-end 1099 forms
  • Posting of all daily deposits and credit memos in ERP system daily
  • Daily review of AP voucher distributions to ensure coding accuracy
  • Monitor internal controls to ensure compliance and produce key metrics
  • Compiles AP information to assist with financial analysis
  • Participation in the new hire interview process
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management
  • Review team members monthly vendor reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly reconciliation of AP sub ledger
  • Approve and process weekly employee expenses via expense management system (Certify)
  • Assist with various tasks associated with company audits

Qualifications

  • College degree accounting or related field
  • 4-6 years accounting experience or related field required
  • 2 years supervisory experience
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP accounting systems. Infor ERP experience an advantage.
  • Effective time management skills
