Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer for our Fort Worth office with at least 5 years’ experience and will be a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas. This candidate will have experience in the field of engineering related to mechanical building systems and infrastructure experience including mechanical HVAC, plumbing systems and/or architectural engineering.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical building systems and infrastructure engineering design functions on a variety of large public and private developments
• Review and understand LEED requirements and verify they are incorporated into the design/construction
• Assist Project Managers with preparation of pertinent correspondence reports and A/E contract criteria
• Review technical aspects of major design, construction, renovation and/or alterations
• Some travel will be required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
• Registered PE required
• Minimum 5 years of related experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
• Understanding of LEED requirements and LEED AP preferred
• Knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria, applicable building codes and standards for construction, specifically for mechanical and plumbing codes
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit BIM computer aided design programs, Trace 700 and Bluebeam
• Experience with HVAC manufacturer selection software is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
• The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
