Hughes Engineering & Consulting is accepting applications for a Project Engineer opportunity to support cradle-to-grave capital projects within the Pharmaceutical Industry. Typical projects include aseptic fill/finish/packaging, bioprocessing, facilities/utilities, and automation integration. As a Project Engineer, you will collaborate with multiple departments, disciplines and Hughes' talented on-site engineering team to successfully organize and control project elements including cost, schedule, and quality capital project deliverables.

Project Engineer Responsibilities:

• Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans, conferring with management.
• Determines/Develops project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
• Provides timely engineering solutions to problems associated with project assignments.
• Assist with Technical evaluations/project task on capital projects from the concept CAR funding stages through procurement, installation, startup, and commissioning.
• Develops or assists with the development of project schedules by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
• Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
• Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
• Controls project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts.
• Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending actions

You will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical/Mechanical preferred)
• Relevant internship or Co-op experience, preferably in an FDA or cGMP regulated industry
• Self-motivated and capable of working in diverse team situations and maintaining a positive attitude towards project challenges
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Minimum 1 full year of relevant work experience in a cGMP or FDA regulated manufacturing environment
