Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Training Specialist. Primary Function: conduct onboarding and role-based training for new and incumbent Credit Union employees. Evaluate participant performance and collaborate with management to develop and implement learning strategies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct onboarding, product, service, technical, and soft-skills training programs as assigned.
• Evaluate on-the-job trainer and trainee performance, communicate findings and collaborate with management to develop and implement learning strategies.
• Act as a liaison between Talent Management, On the Job Trainers and Retail/Support Management to assess current training and gather feedback on training needs.
• Assess course participants to measure knowledge transfer and the effectiveness of training. Provide findings to and collaborate with Instructional Designer to update/enhance course material(s) as necessary.
• Develop a working knowledge and understanding of products, services, processes and systems to effectively facilitate product, service, technical and soft-skills training as assigned.
• Maintain Talent Management processes, data tracking and reports as assigned.
• Assist in the implementation of work plans for new Training Specialists.
• Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

• Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required
• Associate’s Degree preferred
• Minimum 1 Year Training or mentoring experience required
• Minimum 1 year experience as a facilitator in the financial services industry preferred
• Minimum 1 year work history in a Credit Union or Financial Institution preferred
