Hudson Valley Credit Union is Hiring a Community Relations Manager Near Poughkeepsie, NY

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Manager Talent Acquisition. Primary Function: Provide daily management of the credit union's brand and communications strategy including community relations, financial literacy, and governmental affairs. Increase brand awareness and community impact through promotion of CU activities and outreach. Collaborate with AVP of Public Relations and Corporate Communications to ensure alignment with corporate strategy. Responsible for supporting and promoting business lines by developing and deploying various communications strategies for internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic communications plans including institutional positioning, messaging, and media relations. Focus on building and enhancing a strong and consistent brand for HVCU that permeates the credit union’s field of
  • Manage media activities including, but not limited to: developing media relationships; proactive/reactive story development; preparing press releases, public statements, and press events; responding to inquiries; preparing personnel for media interviews; and monitoring/analyzing media results.
  • Write and/or review all corporate communication pieces that go to members or other stakeholders, including the crafting and/or editing of letters on behalf of key executives and
  • Manage community outreach plans to ensure HVCU’s brand image remains strong by suggesting, planning for, and implementing key charitable donations, sponsorships, and special events that increase visibility for the organization within budgetary
  • Build community financial literacy by managing program for all ages, from in-school to community classes as well as credit union sponsored events. Identify needs and partners with key community stakeholders to increase visibility and reach for HVCU financial literacy Increase outreach with diverse groups to strengthen HVCU’s core values. Measure programs to provide data on improvement to members’ financial prospects.
  • Assist AVP of PR and Corporate Communications with legislative outreach including but not limited to personal outreach, coordination of member/staff legislative action, and measurement of legislative efforts.
  • Represent the credit union at business, community networking, and legislative events.
  • Manage production of the Annual Report, including writing, editing, typesetting, and Assist with editing/proofreading of communication materials (internal and external), as needed by marketing or other departments for accuracy and brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with the AVP of PR and Corporate Communications in development and implementation of the department’s operating budget and goals. Deliver all activities within
  • Act as a complete back-up for AVP of PR and Corporate Communications when necessary.
  • Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Support the Credit Union’s initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
  • Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years equivalent experience for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years expereince in all aspects of developing and implementing public relations and marketing strategies including, but not limited to, media relations, digital marketing, technical marketing, and customer and market research required.
  • Minimum 5 years expereince of relevant product, industry and software application knowledge
  • Valid drivers license required.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles is required.
