Purpose of VisitPITTSBURGH

VisitPITTSBURGH is a tourism development organization dedicated to expanding the tourism economy across Allegheny County. The organization is dedicated to generating positive economic impact across our primary tourism verticals of business events, sports events, and leisure travel. VisitPITTSBURGH achieves its goals, including ensuring the region of certain economic benefits, through the combined efforts of all team members throughout the organization.

Essential Functions

• Extracts useful data and other valuable information for a variety of databases
• Designs processes for data analysis and implements unique insight and reports
• Maintains an understanding of business goals and operations and disseminates analytic insights on both an as needed, and proactive basis
• Maintains awareness of, and forecasts performance against, all organizational KPIs
• Prepares and presents business, financial and operating analytic reports
• Analyzes strategic accounts for business and sports events to prioritize accounts based on probability of conversion to confirmed business
• Communicates results and findings to senior management, key partner organizations, and board of directors, in digital and/or live format, as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field; MBA preferred
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a data-centric business environment
• Deep knowledge of data mining and modeling
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding analytical, organizational, and presentation skills
• Proficient in using business intelligence and analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, R, Python, SAS, SPSS, etc.
• Proficient in translating business insights into comprehensible infographics and visual presentations
