What You'll Do:

As the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will drive and guide a cross-functional team with enthusiasm, optimism, and tenacity to drive R&D that will meet business goals. You will take "hands on" initiative to manage R&D activities, as well as handle the planning, designing (electrical / mechanical), identifying and mitigation of issues that will ensure the new products perform as specified, meet delivery schedules, and meet cost targets and ease of production.

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  • Manages and leads the engineering team of mechanical engineers to ensure they are following processes and exceeding standards.
  • Drives project progress by following and re-enforcing NPI phase gate processes to meet quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
  • Manages and reviews the NPI process, looking for areas of improvement to make it more effective.
  • Performs hands-on electrical design, troubleshooting, validation, and problem-solving of new designs to ensure they will perform as specified and meet budgets.
  • Works closely with Project Managers, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure new products are manufacturable and will meet quality standards.
  • Engages internal resources to ensure fulfillment of the projects. This will include gaining commitments from functional leaders for the needed resource allocations.
  • Leads weekly project meetings coordinating cross functional team member's tasks and due dates to ensure goals are achieved.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: BS degree in Electrical Engineering required; an MBA is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: 5 Years of related Electrical Engineering and Design with at least 2 years of leadership experience. Proven experience managing R&D projects and activities with successful, on-time completion. Has hands-on experience with Analog and Digital designs.
  • Certifications: PMP Preferred but not required.
  • Functional Skills: Excellent researching, planning, prioritizing, and organizing skills are required to work effectively in this role. Knowledge of UL499, CSA22.2, IEC61010, ED55014 and EN61000 standards. Understands in-depth class E and C RF power supplies. Understands in depth amplifier designs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Technology Skills: Proficient Microsoft Office and Project Management tool experience required.
  • Communication Skills: Advanced business writing and communication skills are required to plan, partner, and train with others both inside and outside of the organization.
  • Leadership/ Behaviors: Strong collaboration/influencing skills are needed to effectively partner with others, listen to ideas, and implement the best enhancements. Ability to be work independently, be positive, conceptualize and the ability to move forward with projects that are viable and cost effective is also important in this role.
  • Culture Match: Able to do what is right for the customers, team members, and company.

Other Important Information:

Pay/Salary: Annual salary plus Bonus opportunity. Compensation will be based upon experience.

Reports To: Chief Technology Officer

Core Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (schedule can be slightly flexible; will work approx. 8 - 9 hours within this timeframe)

Typical Work Week: M-F; a few weekends for trade shows each year; 45 - 50 hours a week on average

Direct Reports: 5- 10 Engineering Team Members

Travel: Limited; will travel to China or other Business Units as needed

COVID Protocol: No Special Protocol; Individuals can wear masks if desired
