About the Role As a Senior Software Engineer in the Marketplace Shipping Team, you will be responsible for solving a variety of technical challenges and driving the initiatives to improve our shipping platform and shipping experience. You will work on all parts of our shipping experience in the marketplace including shipping cost estimation, shipping carrier integration and shipment tracking and notifications.. Our tech stack includes PHP, Java, AWS, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, MySQL, Redis, FTP and more. __________________ What You’ll Do Lead shipping engineer team to design and build products to improve overall marketplace shipping experience for our customers as well as vendors Lead shipping engineer team to improve and revamp the overall reliability, maintainability and extensibility of our marketplace shipping platform Lead shipping engineer team to create appropriate metrics for measuring and monitoring the health and performance of the shipping platform Troubleshoot shipping-related operational issues and develop tools to improve productivity of the logistic operational team Working closely with cross-functional partners, including product managers, data scientists and designers for project details and proposals. Partner with other marketplace teams, e.g. checkout, billing, vendor support team to drive projects. Mentor junior team members At a Minimum, We’d Like You to Have Independence, self-direction and experience owning complete products and features A good understanding of large scale distributed systems, algorithms and web services B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent 5 years of experience Ideally, You'll Also Have Experience with shipping related domains.
