Busy, private family is looking to hire a nurturing, kind, experienced Nanny for their home in Weston, MA. A "Mary Poppins" of Nannies!
The Ideal Candidate: This family, especially mom, is looking for someone who is incredibly comfortable with kids. They have 3 kids who are very close in age (17 months (G), 2.5 years (B) & 3.5 years (B)) so they are currently managing 3 toddlers. The older two will be in school half the day (8:30 am - 11:30 am), so the primary responsibility will be for their little girl most of the day, and the other children will be home in the afternoons. Mom is primarily a stay-at-home mom (works part-time) and will be the one driving the kids to/from school and would bring them to most activities unless instructed otherwise. She would also like someone who is comfortable being around the home and doing household duties such as light housekeeping, laundry, organizational projects as needed, running errands (mostly to the grocery store), and anything that needs assistance around the house. Someone who sees something that needs to be done and does it; and who is open to helping out and doesn't say "that's not part of the job" is the best match. Mom really needs an extra set of hands with all three kids as dad works and travels often. Her goal is not to intrude on the time the nanny spends with the kids but is around the home and needs someone who is comfortable having her home during the day and works well with that. She wants to feel very safe leaving the kids with this person if she needs to be out of the house.
What Works Best for Family: As mom states "I think energy is number 1." - someone with an energy (meaning enthusiasm, spark) that the kids respond to. "The kids are relatively easy to be with and enjoy playing together, but they need to be attracted to the energy of whoever is caring for them otherwise they will only want 'mom.' " It's important to have someone who is not shy, who will ask questions, who mom can work seamlessly with, and who is a great communicator. Someone who is trustworthy, caring, motherly, happy, responsible, proactive, energetic, and someone who is organized, and neat will thrive in this role for years to come! Someone who is available to stay for occasional date nights and overnights and who wants to travel with the family is a great fit!
