FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: 3:00 pm to 1:00 AM, Four 10 Hour Shifts

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Diagnose, repair, and rebuild Class 8 Truck engines according to OEM guidelines with minimal supervision.

FOCUS:

• Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Maintain equipment by performing inspections to identify work and/or damaged parts.
• Diagnose and repair engines according to OEM guidelines.
• Make recommendations of repairs needed to Manager to provide estimate.
• Perform repairs within given timelines.
• Properly account for time by documenting the steps taken for correction of customer complaint.
• Use shop provided tools as per intended use. Should a tool be lost or broken, report this to management immediately.
• Properly dispose of any fluids.
• Keep work area clean before and during engine repairs.
• Clean work bay when repairs are complete.
• Follow general safety rules for each job. Ear/eye protection, leather boots, safety cages, etc.
• Must supply tools to make job as efficient as possible
• Document detailed repairs performed on each repair order via computer.
• Complete continuing education courses.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• At least 2-4 years of working on Diesel or Medium Duty Engines.
• Training on multiple different classes of trucks highly preferred.
• CDL is preferred, but not required. (Company will assist employee to comply.)
• Possess a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to ready and comprehend instructions and information.
• General computer skills highly desired.

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some college courses are preferred.
• Willing to continue education as directed a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to view computer monitor.
• Alpha/numeric keyboarding.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, walking, and reaching for long periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The work environment for this position is varied due to the differences in our work site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical, vibrations, fumes or airborne particles, toxic and outside weather conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
• Works indoors and out. Exposed to some outside weather.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• $18.00 - $30.00 an hour. (Based on Experience)
• 120 Hours of PTO after your first full year of employment.
