JOB ACCOUNTABILITY
KEYHOLDER STORE OPERATIONS
Title
OVERVIEW
Primary responsibility of a Keyholder of Hot Topic is to act in absence of the Store Manager (SM) and Assistant Store Manager (ASM) in leading the store to achieve the store objectives with regards to sales, shrink, and opening procedures, and serve customers.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leadership
Participates in creating a team environment which fosters loyalty
Works and communicates well with others, regardless of position, to achieve best results
Provides clear and effective direction to staff in absence of SM and ASM
Appropriately represents the store to the internal and external contacts in the absence of SM and ASM
Understands store sales plan and comp sales goals, and helps drive sales by increasing UPT and ADT
Maintains professionalism at all times
Coaches new Sales Associates as needed to help them quickly get acclimated to their job
Takes responsibility for own performance and consistently meets commitments
Customer Service
Uses Customer Services Steps
Provides a shopping experience that will encourage customers to return by demonstrating good product knowledge, friendly personal presentation, and professional handling of difficult situations
Covers the zone assigned, raises any coverage concerns to SM or ASM, and ensures each zone is covered properly when SM and ASM are not available
Performs management cash register functions as required and ensures accuracy and efficiency
Merchandise Presentation
Assists planogram changes including store map, wall, fixture, merchandising mix, etc.
Leads the morning walk through and prepares daily to-do list in absence of SM and ASM
Coordinates placement of new receipts in absence of SM as ASM
Follows the visual standards for proper presentation, and housekeeping standards or cleanliness and neatness
Communicates fashion trend information to management and respective HQ partners
Loss Prevention
Complies with loss prevention policies and procedure
Assists in managing store shrink within company guidelines and goals
Is aware of activities on the selling floor, informs management of suspicious activities and appropriately responds to these activities as necessary
Communicates cash over/shorts to management, performs mid-day audits and researches discrepancies
Administration/Operations
Understands and complies with Company policies and procedures
Maintains all paperwork administration in an organized manner
Leads the opening procedures in absence of SM and ASM
Maintains organization of backroom including handling receipts, stocking and arranging products and supplies
Performs other duties as assigned
JOB ACCOUNTABILITY
REQUIREMENTS
_Experience & Education _
_ _ Minimum 6 months of retail store experience
Knowledge of music and fashion
Minimum of high school graduate or GED equivalent
Competencies & Skills
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and good written communication skills
Can do attitude and a team player
Strong time management skills and able to shift priorities as needed
Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation)
Able to stand and walk around during scheduled hours
Able to pack and unpack shipments, arrange and move store fixtures and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds
Able to reach for merchandise using the ladders, step stool, merchandise retrieving pole, shoe pole, etc.
Able to use store equipment including cash registers, sensors, cutters, scissors, hand truck, etc.
Able to remain calm and focused under pressure
