Job Summary: The Marketing Assistant's primary responsibility is to assist the Marketing Department in all areas, including but not limited to the Visit Hot Springs websites, social media outlets, digital marquees, newsletters, answering telephone, and logging statistical data; also provides administrative support to supervisors.

Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs duties relating to the maintenance of Visit Hot Springs websites, social media outlets, digital marquees, newsletters, graphic design, writing, and any other responsibilities as assigned by the Marketing Director and other Department Directors and/or the CEO.
• Answers telephone and gives prospective visitors information about Hot Springs or refers to appropriate agencies for further information. Inputs inquiries direct from telephone into computer.
• Maintains statistical data entry records and accurate database on all inquiries and generates monthly reports for all media and state sources.
• Supports Visit Hot Springs events; promotion, set-up, event assistance, and break down when needed.
• Supports travel writer itineraries.
• Attends meetings and conventions when called upon.
• Provides administrative support to the supervisor.
• Performs duties and functions as assigned by the Director of Marketing and other Department Directors and/or the CEO.

Minimum Experience, Skills or Education Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent. One year work experience operating data input devices or completion of a vocational education course in data input devices and one-year experience in design required.
• Must have knowledge of computer systems and equipment, operations of data entry systems and word processing applications; must have working knowledge of Windows, Google Suites and similar office software. Experience with WordPress, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and Constant Contact preferred.
• Graphic Design skills.
• Writing skills.
• Must be able to learn and/or adapt to new computer systems and applications quickly.
• Must be able to type 50 wpm and perform data entry accurately and rapidly.
• Must be able to set up and maintain accurate statistical reports and to create reports.
• Must have extensive knowledge of Hot Springs and its attractions.
• Must have the ability to work independently and responsibly on complex job applications.
• Must be flexible and congenial and able to function well under pressure.
• Must have mathematical development sufficient to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. Must have developed language skills to be able to read and comprehend newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals. Must be able to write summaries and reports. Must be able to speak and write clearly.
• Position requires professional appearance and communication skills.
• Must be able to be bonded and be able to pass a criminal background check.

Working Conditions: The Marketing Assistant works in a climate controlled office environment.
