Hiring a full time Respiratory Therapist. Position is three 12-hour shifts per week, with no on-call hours. Includes $10,000 recruitment incentive!

Key Responsibilities:

• Under supervision of healthcare providers, respiratory therapist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Assesses and reviews patient conditions.
• Determines requirements for treatment, such as type, method and duration of therapy, precautions, and medication and dosages, compatible with healthcare provider orders.
• Provides: Bronchodilator therapy, large volume aerosol, breathing exercises, percussion and postural drainage, oxygen therapy
• May perform pulmonary function tests and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results in therapy.
• Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care, including life support equipment.
• May conduct tests, such as electrocardiograms, stress testing, and lung capacity tests, to evaluate patients’ cardiopulmonary functions.
• Educates patients and their families about their conditions and teaches appropriate disease management techniques, such as breathing exercises and the use of medications and respiratory equipment.

Qualifications:

• Education: Must be licensed and registered or certified to practice Respiratory Care/Therapy in Iowa. Must hold Basic Life Support certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Life Support certifications required within one year of employment.

Experience:

• One year of training or experience preferred.
