POSITION OVERVIEW

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

WORK STATUS: Full-Time

DEPARTMENT: Production

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

LOCATION: Parsons

SUPERVISES OTHERS: No

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS*: No Travel is Expected

*Travel Does Not Refer to Interoffice or Incidental Travel or Errands

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE*: M-Th 5:30am-4pm w/Lunch 11:30am-12pm

*Exempt employees are expected to fulfill the duties of their positions regardless of the hours worked. Non-Exempt employees may be subject to mandatory overtime and/or irregular hours.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The assembly associate is responsible for the assembly of equipment that meets company defined quality standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with assembly lead to ensure jobs meet production schedule
  • Complete assembly stages of build as required
  • Assembly area kept clean and organized
  • Work effectively with Shipping Department to crate and secure equipment for shipping
  • Work with other departments to ensure on time delivery and product quality
  • Responsible for being clocked in on appropriate work orders
  • Follow company policies and safety practices as required
  • Work with Operations Safety Manager to ensure safe working environment
  • Work effectively with Quality and Engineering to correct mistakes and minimize rework
  • Complete cleaning stages of build as required
  • Complete sandblasting stages of build as needed

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain an organized and clean work area (daily)
  • Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS

ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasional exposure to a variety of extreme conditions such as working in high and low temperatures
  • The noise level in the production facilities and at job sites can vary
  • Required to work around/near industrial metal equipment including machinery such as plasma table, hand plasma cutters, MIG welders, TIG welders, etc.
  • Work site is an industrial facility with a dusty atmosphere (i.e. stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum metal dust
  • Subject to paint fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or other atmospheric conditions

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL:

  • Regularly required to stand for long periods of time
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, kneeling…
  • Frequent bending and stooping
  • Frequently (several times per day) lift or move objects up to 25 lbs., regularly (daily) lift or move objects up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift or move objects up to 75 lbs.
  • Occasional use of stairs to collaborate with engineering/production (up to but not limited to 5 times a day)
  • Visual acuity required to operate motor vehicles and /or heavy equipment

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

  • Routinely use equipment associated with sheet metal fabrication including, but not limited to:
    • Milling machines and lathes
    • Air and/or electric grinders
    • Dyna-files
    • Horizontal and vertical saws
    • Brake press
    • Drill press
    • Belt sander
    • Air compressors
  • Operation of forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Use of barcode scanners to accurately track time spent on jobs
  • Operation of company work trucks (infrequent)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

  • Cleaning and assembly experience and training
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Mechanical Aptitude
