Horizon Family Eye Care is Hiring an Optician Near Charlottesville, VA

Job description:

  • Helping patients select eyeglass frames and lens treatments
  • Reviewing insurance benefits information and calculating cost for materials
  • Collection of eye measurements
  • Interpretation of prescriptions written by ophthalmologists and optometrists
  • Creating work orders that ensure delivery of the proper lenses
  • Adjusting eyeglasses to ensure a proper fit
  • Repairing broken frames
  • Educating clients on proper eyeglass and contact lens care
  • Keeping track of orders, prescriptions, and inventory
  • Processing of contact lens materials for patients and trial lens inventory
  • Cultivating a friendly environment for patients and staff
  • Proper cleaning of optical frames, frame boards, optical furniture and fixtures
  • Provide assistance to patients, other staff, and doctor whenever possible

Job Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, required
  • High School diplopia, required
  • Optical sales experience, preferred
  • Experience processing insurance claims, preferred
  • Experience using Macs and other Apple products, preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
