HORIZON BANK is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near Three Oaks, MI

Job Overview
Prepare financial models using mathematical, statistical and economic techniques. Prepares supporting documentation regarding models and support modeling needs for financial related reporting requirements (both internal and external), credit risk, stress testing, balance forecasting, revenue and expense forecasting, in compliance with state and federal regulations, company policies and established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Assist in the preparation and completion of SEC and other required external reporting.

*Principal Accountabilities*
Work with the Business Analysts to provide financial models and detailed analysis to support business needs. Assist in acquisition transactions such as financial analysis, model creation, and other support services needed. Represent the Bank to both internal and external customers in a courteous, professional manner in face-to-face, written and telephone communications. Accountable for adherence to compliance standards including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), as well as quality of documentation and timeliness of assigned projects. Actively protect confidentiality of customer and account information. Demonstrate Horizon Bank’s commitment to the communities we serve through active involvement in local organizations and events.

*Duties*

  • Gather relevant data and prepare models.
  • Draft situation analyses, pitch materials, informational memoranda, management presentations and term sheets in support of M&A assignments.
  • Perform company, industry, market and competitor research and due diligence.
  • Assist with development of plans to address accounting related process improvements related to acquisitions.
  • Assist with the completion of supporting documentation for required internal and external reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation and completion of SEC and other required external reporting.
  • Report suspicious transactions or unusual occurrences to supervisor.
  • Conduct and document periodic risk reviews and run reports as needed.
  • Perform all work in compliance with established regulations, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and instructions.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by keeping information private and confidential.
  • Participate in ongoing skill, compliance, risk management and security training as required for the position and apply knowledge in daily tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration with preferably three to five years of relevant banking experience, SEC reporting and filing experience a plus.
  • Exceptional organization, time management and follow-up skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, bank employees and outside service providers.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and a wide range of procedures requiring sound judgement.
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical computations using various business machines and/or computers.
  • Must have proficient typing and computer skills, using MSOffice products.
