Hope Partnership For Education is Hiring a Communications Manager Near Philadelphia, PA

Mission of Organization

Hope Partnership for Education is an independent, non-profit organization, founded in June 2002. The mission of HPE provides quality educational services to youth and adults in North Philadelphia through diverse programs: a 5th - 8th grade Middle School, Graduate Support that guides alumni through High School, and an Adult Education Program.

Hope Partnership for Education is looking for a Development Associate who will embody the organization's values of hospitality, respect, compassion, academic excellence, joy, and hope. The Development Associate contributes to Hope's fundraising and engagement of community supporters by managing all Development operations processes, supporting Hope's marketing efforts, and leading annual appeal campaigns. This position is responsible for supporting Hope's gift processing, generating content for diverse audiences, and event logistics.

Position Purpose: Hope Partnership for Education is seeking a full-time, mission-driven
Communications Manager to lead all Marketing Strategy efforts. This position is hybrid as determined with the Development Director and President/CEO.

Core Responsibilities

  • Execute communications plan, calendar, and strategic projects as determined by the
    Development Director that meet Hope's marketing strategy and objectives.
  • Create a social media calendar and develop engaging content on a weekly basis
    across platforms.
  • Collaborate with Development Director and other external-facing Hope staff to
    produce clear and effective monthly email newsletters and develop a Hope blog.
  • Maintain the website and develop/update content as needed.
  • Develop and organize a story bank with a collection of anecdotes, student profiles,
    and multi-media content.
  • Work with the Development Director and Marketing Committee to design marketing
    and fundraising materials, such as pitch decks, informational brochures, gift
    acknowledgement letters, and annual/impact reports
  • Apply an equity lens to all aspects of internal and external communication and
    engagement to ensure Hope's values are present.
  • As a member of the Development team, supports all fundraising and community event
    logistics under the guidance of the Hope Leadership Team.
  • Participates in Hope's organizational initiatives, activities, and support other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • BA degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Education or related field and a
    minimum of two to four years of relevant experience.
  • Public/private education, non-profit, or higher education experience preferred.
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills, ability to develop content for
    different audiences and channels.
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills required.
  • Experience with web content management systems such as Wordpress, email
    marketing software such as Constant Contact, social media management, Google
    analytics, and graphic design platform Canva.
  • Passion for creating content with teammates and effectively reaching diverse
    audiences.
  • Highly organized project manager who will lead multiple collaborative projects
    simultaneously.
  • Graphic design experience using Adobe Creative Cloud ideal.
  • Experience using CRM platform such as Salesforce, a plus.
  • Collegial, mission-driven, and approachable.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Occasionally lift to 20 pounds
  • Works in standard office conditions and climate
  • May work at desk and/or computer for extended periods of time
  • May work in varied weather conditions or external site locations during special
    activities and fundraising events
  • Works in an environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a
    varied and diverse array of relationships
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
