GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
This role supports the mission and core values of Hoosier Gasket Corporation by closely adhering to safety requirements, maintaining all press equipment while minimizing production downtime, and general upkeep of the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Trouble shoot and make necessary changes to processes and/or machines within the established written procedure guidelines.
• Strive to achieve best performance of machines by ensuring machines are running at established cycle and production rates.
• Support setup processes.
• Work with existing vendors and suppliers to supplement inventory and make decisions for the appropriate stock.
• Safely, effectively, and professionally use all basic hand tools, maintenance shop machinery, diagnostic test equipment, etc.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Must possess a thorough understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, gearboxes, rotating machinery, bearings, bushings, gears, conveyor belts, etc.
• Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude to decipher root cause analysis of machinery.
• Ability to retrofit facility to meet changing demand.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, piping and control diagrams.
• Provide proactive approach to repetitive failures, initiate design change/modification, fabricate new parts and diagnose defective parts and reorder like materials.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance/work order systems and ability to maintain system.
• Ability to install and setup various press equipment to specifications, as well as, the ability to position and arrange equipment in multiple configurations to conform with product dimensions, layout, speed and packaging requirements.
• Ability to perform minor repairs to existing equipment, defective parts, and new installations.
• High level oral and written communications skills.
• Knowledge of basic technology in the area where assigned.
• High level analytical ability where problems are complex.
• High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels or the organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum 2 years of relevant work practice in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations including but not limited to lock out/tag out, electrical, guarding, fall protection, PPE, etc. Working experience participating in a manufacturing environment; understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures, process improvement.
