Hook And Anchor in Newport Beach, CA is looking for one assistant manager to join our 12 person strong team. We are located on 3305 Newport Blvd Ste A. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and hard-working.

Position Summary

The assistant restaurant manager's duties include scheduling shifts, balancing cash registers, manage FOH/BOH tip outs, training of new staff, address customers' complaints and queries in a swift and courteous manner, and contribute to the professional development of staff.

To be successful as an assistant restaurant manager, you should implement measures to minimize costs, improve profitability, and enhance the guest experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    *Ensuring/verifying that the opening and closing of the restaurant are managed through checklists. *Posting of job openings and participating in the interview/hiring process. *Training and mentoring new staff members. *Scheduling shifts and assigning positions as needed. *Holding accountable employees to standards established by the leadership team. *Resolving customers' questions and grievances in a professional manner. *Verify staff payroll activities (clock-in/out times, breaks, and time punch changes) in an accurate, timely manner. *Ensuring that the restaurant adheres to pertinent health and safety regulations. *Complete order guides for the purchasing of necessary products. *Making deposits and obtaining change as needed for the register.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    *A high school diploma or equivalent preferred *Must be 18 years of age *State alcohol service and food handler’s card required *State Sexual Harassment Course completion *Prior experience in related food service positions required *Moderate reading and writing skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures *Promotes positive public relations with guests *Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment *Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less *Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills

Employee is regularly exposed to kitchen equipment (e.g., oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer, and chef's knives).

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $23.00 - $28.00/hour.
