Overview

Oxford Biomedica Solutions, LLC ("Solutions"), the joint venture of Oxford Biomedica plc ("The Group") and Homology Medicines, Inc., is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to supervise, track, and evaluate day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities. This key team member will be responsible for establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information. This is a unique opportunity to build and be a part of developing the Finance department as it supports our growing and cutting-edge AAV CDMO-space company, producing gene therapy AAV therapeutics to improve patients’ lives worldwide.

Responsibilities

● Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.

● Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

● Continue to build and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure within the SAP ERP system.

● Assist the Director of Finance in the daily banking requirements.

● Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.

● Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

● Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions which includes revenue recognition and cost of goods sold.

● Respond to inquiries from the Group Finance and Controlling and firm wide Solutions managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.

● Work with the Director of Finance to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.

● Supervise the general ledger to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met with Group Finance and Controlling.

● Assist in developing and implementing new procedures and features to enhance the financial controls of the Company.

● Support the Director of Finance with special projects (new financial system) and workflow process improvements.

● Support the Director of Finance with Tax planning and compliance.

● Support budget and forecasting activities.

● Act as a liaison between the company and the external auditors in providing the required information and ensuring that proper information is maintained for historical purposes.

● Responsible for monthly reports and research; work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of varied factors.

● Assist the Director of Finance in regulatory compliance with reporting/accounting regulations, establishment of internal control processes and procedures, implementation of revenue recognition and cost of good policies that align with Group Finance and Controlling, option tracking and reporting, and with financial compliance with contractual obligations.

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with a minimum of 9 years of experience in financial reporting, required. CPA desirable.

● Public accounting experience at a Big 4 firm highly desirable .

● Exceptionally strong analytical and technical accounting capabilities are essential.

● Small company experience is highly desirable.

● SAP experience highly desirable.

● Exceptional written and oral communication skills are essential.

● Excellent technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.

● Demonstrated flexibility to effectively accommodate to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.

● Biotechnology/Gene Therapy industry experience is preferred, but not essential.

● Must be a team player committed to embrace, work in, and nurture a team-based culture; self-directed and proactive, able to work both independently and thrives in a team-based environment, with proven experience working in cross-functional teams and managing relationships in a collaborative, constructive manner with both internal and external stakeholders, required.
