Schedule: Position will require office training. Once trained and working independently work every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 8a to 5p hybrid schedule. Once a month in person Business Development meeting.

Responsibilities

• Works with community health partners and agency's home care and hospice teams in the patient referral process.
• Effectively educate prospective patients, families, physicians and hospitals and other facilities regarding home health and hospice programs.
• Receive, analyze and process incoming referrals via variety of pathways including fax, portals and phone.
• Maintain a log of all incoming referrals.
• Verify insurance benefits, eligibility and precertification requirements with insures either by phone or website.
• Enter basic medical coding.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated critical thinking, organization and attention to detail.
• Minimum of two-year experience in medical/surgical nursing.
• Minimum of one year experience in medical coding and third-party payer authorizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical setting.
• EMR experience.
• Familiarity with community resources within agency territory.

Required

• Satisfactory criminal record.
