Job Summary

The Business Analyst I interact with all lines of business to assist with requirements analysis and solution creation for application and process enhancement. This position serves as a liaison between the business units and IT staff and is responsible for assisting with development of detailed project specifications, communicating effectively and consistently with all parties, and ensuring final deliverables are accurate and meet department standards. 

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Enhances the quality of IT products & services through partnership with vendors, lines of business leaders, systems analysts, and administrators.
  • Consistently communicates project status to all involved stakeholders and communicates effectively with team to achieve high quality results on projects.
  • Recommends and justifies application modifications that enable the organization to achieve its goals, based on an understanding of business issues and opportunities in the context of user requirements and software capabilities.
  • Researches and resolves complex operational issues.
  • Acts as an information source and communicator between the lines of business.
  • Coordinates the execution of testing procedures and ensures test cases serve the overall quality assurance process.
  • Documents requirements and solutions for application changes.
  • Documents test cases and provides quality review and quality control across all project types.
  • Completes accurate and consistent documentation across all platforms and projects.
  • Revises existing internal system documentation, including settings, to department standards.
  • Ensures timely completion of all deliverables, including personal deliverables and meeting SLAs.
  • Finds technological solutions to business needs.
  • Stays up to date with industry trends and technology applications
  • Completes pos-project reviews.
  • Adheres to all corporate policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, and laws.
  • Completes all mandatory annual compliance training.
  • Follows regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering and other unlawful activities, as well as regulations pertaining to lending and consumer compliance to include fair lending laws.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or computer information systems required, a focus on system analysis and/or project management.
  • Technical certificate with corresponding work experience may also be considered.

Required:

  • 1 years of work experience in analysis and problem resolution.
  • Able to communicate well with technical resources and follow group processes related to project lifecycle.
  • Familiar with quality assurance/quality control, system testing methodologies, and business documentation concepts.
  • Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess an intellectual curiosity for learning new processes and technologies.
  • Able to deal with frequent change and manage competing demands.
  • Understand and use bank policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Understand and/or convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately and quickly if necessary.
  • Successfully apply research methods into system issues and software capabilities.
  • Superior organization skills, written/verbal communication skills, customer service skills, and time management skills.
  • Able to think analytically and conceptually.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Preferred:

  • Banking or financial services experience.
  • Familiarity with gathering requirements, quality assurance/quality control, system testing methodologies, and business documentation concepts.
