Job Summary:

The Family Practice Medical Doctor will provide primary medical care services to patients of all ages in a family practice medical office. They will diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions, prescribe medications, and provide preventative healthcare services and advice.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct physical exams and medical assessments of patients.
• Diagnose and treat medical conditions and illnesses.
• Prescribe medications and other treatments as needed.
• Provide preventative healthcare services, including immunizations, screenings, and health education.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and blood tests
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as Nurse Practitioners and Physicians to coordinate patient care with the support of Medical Assistants and/or Medical Scribes
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure patient confidentiality and privacy
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay up-to-date with the latest medical practices and technologies
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards set by medical associations and licensing boards

Qualifications:

• Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited medical school
• Board certification in family medicine or primary care
• Unencumbered California medical license and DEA registration
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in family medicine or primary care
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, including the ability to make accurate diagnoses and develop effective treatment plans
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate medical information to patients and their families in a clear and compassionate manner
• Empathy and a commitment to patient-centered care
• Attention to detail and accuracy in medical record keeping.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• May be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a medical office setting
• May be exposed to infectious diseases and hazardous materials
• Full time employment currently Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm (36-40 hour work week).
• Future schedule could shift to Monday through Thursdays with 9 hour days and 4 hours on Fridays (36-40 hour work week).
