Overview

PURPOSEPerforms various tasks associated with the safe and efficient unloading of non hazardous solids waste derived fuel accepted at the facility.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be part of a team carrying out routine operations, such as receiving, shredding, blending and loadingduring a specific shift.
• Participates in activities to ensure the production of a fuel blend that meets the cement kilnspecifications.
• Ensures that facility activities are done in a manner that maintains regulatory compliance, health and safety excellence and high housekeeping standards.
• Performs minor mechanical repairs when maintenance support is not available.
• Ensures that facility operations are executed in accordance within established policies and procedures.
• Participates in formal and on- the –job training programs to acquire/broaden both technical and non-technical job skills; participates in cross training activities.
• Utilizes systems and resources to identify and control hazards.
• Suggests programs that reduce/contain costs and/or increase productivity. Takes independent action to resolve problems when appropriate.
• Applies skills and performs work in other positions as assigned.
• Able to work rotating shifts and weekends as assigned.
• Able to work independently.
• Performs all Mix-Pit Process Line responsibilities including: placing/scanning/opening drums; operating processing equipment; removing empty drums; loading totes; compacting empty totes; loading shredder; stacking empty pallets; unloading bulk trucks; housekeeping.
• Performs all Mixing and Loading responsibilities including:
  • Operating back hoe/track hoe/tractors/dump trailers; maintaining equipment; loading outbound dump trailer loads; sampling bulk trucks for QA/QC; unloading bulk trucks into mix pit; assisting driver withwashing out trailers; housekeeping.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESRequired Education: High School diploma/GEDRequired Work Experience: 0-1 yearTravel Requirements: Less than 10%

Additional Requirements:

• 1 year experience in an industrial manufacturing or processing environment preferred
• Valid Driver’s License
• Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
