Responsibilities

Works with acetylene torches, welders, hand tools, hydraulic and air-powered tools

• Responsible for maintaining the plant manufacturing equipment in a state of readiness. -Complete work orders in a timely manner; installing, repairing and fabricating materials out of metal; ensuring availability and functioning of required items; and ensuring safety and resolving immediate safety concerns.

-Perform the appropriate plant equipment inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance for both fixed and mobile equipment. Responsible for preparing and welding steel and aluminum structures, appendages and equipment.

• Performs routine preventative maintenance on plant and mobile equipment including handling welding repairs. Conducts routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment and reports findings to supervisor.
• Prepare Plant reports as required and maintain an inventory of regularly used repair supplies or equipment.

-Assists personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

-Responds to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

• Performs repairs as required on plant processing equipment and performs maintenance on plant grounds as required.

-Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicle, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety

Qualifications

Working knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as the use of all shop equipment such as welding and machining equipment. Need to have or able to obtain a hazardous materials endorsement.

· High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

· Three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in mechanical repair, installation, construction in a plant or industrial environment
