Works with acetylene torches, welders, hand tools, hydraulic and air-powered tools
-Perform the appropriate plant equipment inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance for both fixed and mobile equipment. Responsible for preparing and welding steel and aluminum structures, appendages and equipment.
-Assists personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
-Responds to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
-Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicle, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety
Working knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as the use of all shop equipment such as welding and machining equipment. Need to have or able to obtain a hazardous materials endorsement.
· High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
· Three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in mechanical repair, installation, construction in a plant or industrial environment
