Overview

About the role:

Perform and coordinate electrical design and development of new equipment and the modification of existing electrical equipment consistent with plant standards, including equipment changes due to plantprocedure changes.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing:

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Practice and promote safety in such a way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). 
  • Prepare engineering scope of work for plant electrical projects.
  • Support installation of new plant equipment from conception to operation. Assure integration of new systems into plant operations.
  • Interface with contractors utilized in project work, including solicitation of quotes, selection and field direction.
  • Prepare cost estimates and justifications for the capital plan.
  • Participate in the creation of preventative maintenance routines (PMRs) and bills of materials (BOMs) for electrical equipment.
  • Conduct economic and operation feasibility studies on proposed electrical modifications and additions.
  • Develop detailed preventative maintenance routines for all plant electrical equipment.
  • Research/recommend new PM procedures based on newly developed technologies.
  • Use SAP to purchase parts and services, review work orders, analyze reports and manage capital projects related to electrical project management and PM development.
  • Maintain, organize, prepare, review and revise drawings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

We're looking for:

Required Education: Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree

Field of Study Preferred: Electrical Engineering

Required Work Experience: 5-7 Years of management experience in the cement or similar industrial facility

Required Computer and Software Skills: Knowledge of processing methods and appropriate planning techniques. Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Travel Requirements: Some travel required

Additional Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of high and low voltage power distribution systems, weighing and batching systems, PLC control and machinery interlocking systems, variable speed drives and motor control systems
