Overview

The Lead Dispatcher/Scheduler will function as the “quarterback” of the Dispatch Team. They will beresponsible for overseeing the minute-to-minute dispatch function, including management of the CSRs andShippers. They will ensure the Dispatch Team utilizes the company’s resources in the most efficient mannerwhile providing the highest possible level of customer service

Responsibilities

● Customer Service and Efficiencies:● Be the genius behind the full optimization of fleet and personnel.● Ensure the targeted level of service is maintained within the targeted delivery cost, utilization, andefficiency figures.● Schedule and adjust orders and trucks in order to maximize service while minimizing non-productive timeof equipment and personnel.● Have an open line of communication with sales department to ensure an atmosphere of cooperation andteamwork.● Management of Dispatch Team:● Direct Shippers and CSRs on an up-to-minute basis.● Act as an intermediary between Shippers and CSR’s.● Oversee the start of day and end of day operations.● Ensure Driver washouts are being completed in a timely fashion-responsible for Shippers actions.● Organize, analyze, and oversee the daily operation of the dispatch center and the minute-to-minutemanagement of CSRs, Shippers, Drivers and Batchmen.● Other:● Monitor and keep everyone updated on performance goals and measurements.● Produce and provide Dispatch Manager with daily updates and reports on performance.● Ensure the schedule is accurate and up-to-date so others can rely upon the display for decision making.● Assist CSRs with answering phones when demand necessitates.● Assign vacation to Drivers based on guidelines set forth by the union operating contract.● Be the final answer for determining customer needs.● Understand and comply with union contracts and company policies.

● This position responds to the needs of the customers in direct relation to getting Aggregate product fromone location to another. Direction is given to this position by the Dispatch Manager based on orders. Thisposition interacts with both customers, external hired trucks and internal employee operated trucks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent or years of equivalent experience.Additional Education Preferred:Field of Study Preferred:Required Work Experience: 5 to 7Required Computer and Software Skills
