What We're Looking For Looking for a new opportunity to grow your transportation planning career? HNTB is seeking a multi-talented transportation planning professional to work on transformational transit, rail, and active transportation projects in the the Bay Area. Join our growing team by contributing your exisiting skills and learn new ones along the way. This position will support existing projects with well known transportation agencies. Primary Focus Will Include: Supporting research, writing, and spreadsheet management tasks on rail, transit and active transportation projects Contributing to research and writing of corridor planning and feasibility studies Graphic support for powerpoint presentations and reports GIS support for environmental planning and transportation projects Preferred Qualifications and Skills: Master's degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning or related field. Graphics expertise (Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, others) Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills Strong writing and analytical skills Familiarity with CEQA and NEPA processes or reviewing environmental technical studies What You'll Need Essential Responsibilities: Research data sources, gathers data, and conducts analysis of data for use in projects. Identifies planning and analysis strategies using tools such as GIS, traffic, or safety software to manipulate data, assess scenarios and perform project analysis. Investigates and evaluates the planning processes and technical solutions that best meet the project needs. Coordinates internally and externally with project team members, including other discipline areas involved with the project. Prepares maps, exhibits, and presentation materials for projects. Conducts research on issues, policies, and concepts pertaining to planning. Assists in the development of conceptual planning alternatives for urban and transportation planning projects. Drafts sections of and performs tasks related to the preparation and production of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents for transportation and infrastructure projects. May participate in public process and stakeholder facilitation. Performs other duties as assigned.
