HNTB participates in E-Verify Know your rights: Right to Work What We're Looking For The Instructional Designer works consultatively with internal clients and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to conduct performance needs analyses and design, develop, implement and measure the impact of learning and development (L&D) solutions to achieve improved performance. The scope of work for this position includes creating instructor-led training, e-learning, virtual classroom training, job aids, reference materials, knowledge/skills tests, learning evaluation, and maintaining day-to-day LMS activities. The Instructional Designer is experienced in performance consulting and leads the implementation of moderately complex L&D projects from start to finish or works with oversight from a senior L&D team member on complex L&D projects. They are a disciplined project manager who ensures quality deliverables and timely project completion. Primary Focus Will Include: Builds relationships across the firm, including within HR and the business lines, to establish trust and insight into business needs. Assists in conducting needs analyses to determine organizational and learner needs. Designs, develops, and implements training programs and solutions to meet organizational needs by collaborating with subject matter experts. Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of training solutions. Partners with facilitators and SMEs to ensure content is up-to-date and relevant to learner and business needs. Delivers high quality solutions on time and to client satisfaction. Manages multiple projects that vary in scope and size. Manages and maintains materials hosted on the LMS, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. Creates and/or edits graphics, photos, and videos for learning materials. Facilitates firmwide training on interpersonal skills, leadership, and management topics, including inclusion, diversity, and equity topics, both in person and virtually. Manages and supports training programs that are led by SMEs. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications and Skills: 5 years experience in instructional design, human resources, training, or organizational development Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) Certification Proficient with Instructional Design authoring tools such as Microsoft Office, Storyline, Photoshop, Camtasia, Premiere Pro, Microsoft Teams. Demonstrates clarity, presence, confidence, and competence when communicating with clients. Manages competing demands and changing priorities. Ability to manage day-to-day activities within the LMS including updating courses and maintaining user accounts What You'll Need Essential Responsibilities: Applying a performance consulting approach, conducts needs analyses to determine organizational and learner needs and how meeting those needs impacts business performance. Collaborates with SME and stakeholders using the L&D toolset to gather additional data to develop the best solution to meet business needs. Designs and develops L&D solutions using a breadth of tools such as instructor led training, job aids, e-learning, on-the-job experiences and virtual learning. Manages L&D projects using a project management discipline and tools such as project charter, project plan and regular project reviews to ensure quality deliverables and timely project completion. Implements and builds collaborative relationships with clients that demonstrate understanding of client goals and project parameters. Influences client to adopt best practice L&D solutions that meet client requirements. Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of training solutions. Partners with facilitators and SMEs to ensure content is up-to-date and relevant to learner and business needs. Manages and maintains materials in the L&D environment including but not limited to the LMS and other storage areas. Performs other duties as assigned.
