Job Description



As the Jira Administrator, you will use your knowledge and specialized skills to implement technical solutions and provide high quality support for all things related to Jira including, design, implementation, support, documentation, and training.

You will be tasked with building and empowering a strong team capable of delivering multi-project needs for the business. You will need to effectively communicate technical direction to senior leadership and cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and culture of automation.


  • Analyze, review, and document current functionality to determine potential areas of improvement.
  • Manage user permissions for tools according to the needs of projects and teams.
  • Perform application and system administration tasks, including data backups and scheduled jobs.
  • Test new versions of the tools and plug-ins to ensure compatibility.
  • Improve JIRA security. Set access permissions for JIRA projects and Confluence spaces.
  • Work with JIRA filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, fields, and JIRA administration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across organization, gather requirements to develop, and deliver custom templates, workflows (automation) using Atlassian products (JIRA, Service Desk, and Confluence.)
  • Develop and maintain automation workflows in Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, and other Atlassian products including tool administration and customization.
  • Communicate and share knowledge with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Manage multiple responsibilities with tight deadlines.
  • Research and utilize industry standard methods and techniques.
  • Conduct training for employees on JIRA and Confluence regarding how to use the tools, and new functionality.
  • Collaborates with business units while assisting in best practice for translating need into requirements 



  • 3 years’ experience as JIRA Administrator with experience customizing JIRA projects with various schemes, complex workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience working with the Atlassian product suite, with specific focus on JIRA as a Project/Application Administrator.
  • Hands on experience using the Azure administration portal.
  • Expert level Atlassian tool administration knowledge on JIRA and Confluence.
  • Ability to write custom JQL (Jira Query Language), a plus.
  • Ability to construct custom dashboards using various filter types in JIRA, necessary.
  • Ability to construct Confluence pages and integrate JIRA projects with Confluence pages, necessary.
  • Experience in performing Atlassian installations, migrations, and plugin installation, necessary.
  • Experience installing applications and monitoring performance on VMs, and Microsoft Windows Server, preferred.
  • Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL Database administration skills are preferred.
  • Strong problem investigation and diagnosis skills.
  • Experience creating and updating business requirements.
  • Excellent written, oral, and meeting communication skills.


  • Microsoft Azure Certification (MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline preferred.
