Hispanic Health Council is Hiring a Family Support Provider Near Hartford, CT

Job Description

The Family Support Provider will serve as part of the Parent and Family Learning unit. Under supervision, family support providers work directly with families in home settings, visiting families, providing information purposed to improve parenting skills and teach child development. Works directly with caregivers in home settings to provide direct client support, at times, virtual support. Provides comprehensive services to caregivers while implementing Parents as Teachers and Words Count curriculum. Facilitates family access to community resources. Frequently meets with team supervisor, reviewing data quality, reports, and review assessments. Supervises assigned staff. Performs related work as required.

The hours of work are 35 per week. Required to travel to site locations.

This is a grant funded position. The position is contingent on grant funding.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of family-oriented program coordination
  • Knowledge of technical platforms (Microsoft Suite: Excel, Teams, etc.)
  • Ability to plan and employ program initiatives
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work flexible work hours including pre-scheduled nights and weekends
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, Social Services, Human Service or related field andtwo (2) years of experience providing education, social, or child development services to families.

Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, Social Services, Human Service or related field
  • Experience with small children (under the age of 5)
  • Bilingual - Spanish
