Summary:

Assist in monitoring utilization of medical services to assure cost effective use of medical resources through processing prior authorizations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Initiate authorization requests submitted by providers for outpatient and inpatient services in accordance with the prior authorization list.
• Answering providers phone calls and route to appropriate staff when needed.
• Verify eligibility and benefits
• Answer phone queues and process faxes within established standards
• Data entry inputting authorizations into the system.

Education/Experience:

• Medical front office experience and/or medical billing experience
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology 
• ICD -10 experience
• Computer Skills
• Typing minimum 35 wpm
• CPT code experience
• 2 years of experience 

• Shift: 8:30-5:30
• COVID Vaccination: Required
