Laundry Assistant or Laundry Aide Summary: A laundry assistant or laundry aide washes and dries soiled clothes or linens. As a laundry assistant, your job responsibilities include collecting soiled linens or clothing, sorting laundry by color and fabric type, performing stain treatments, and operating laundry machines to wash and dry items.

Laundry Assistant/Laundry Aide Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language
• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism when circumstances warrant such actions
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel, and the general public
• Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the Housekeeping & Laundry Department
• Must possess the ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
• Must possess the ability to display patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
• Must be able to complete all other tasks as assigned by the Administrator, Director of Housekeeping & Laundry Services, or designee

Laundry Assistant or Laundry Aide Qualifications:

• Minimum education level of 10th grade
• Housekeeping experience preferred, but not required (training will be provided)
