Hillsboro Medical Center is Hiring a Development Specialist - 90243 Near Hillsboro, OR

POSITION SUMMARY

Position Summary –

Responsible for developing strategies and implementing programs, projects, and activities designed to cultivate new donors, maintain donor stewardship, and acquire ongoing contributions to benefit the mission of Hillsboro Medical Center. Coordinates Foundation donor records and gift acknowledgement and maintains Raiser’s Edge database.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES –

Performed majority of the time:

· Working with the Foundation Manager, manages the employee giving campaign and annual giving activities and other fundraising opportunities or efforts as they arise. Participates in the planning and implementation of fundraising initiatives including events.

· Serves as internal expert on Raiser’s Edge and Greater Giving databases; responsible for updating donor records, managing database procedures, running mailing lists and building and generating reports.

· Ensures accurate and timely gift processing and generating acknowledgement letters.

· Coordinates production and mailing of communications and appeals.

· Assists with Foundation board relationship, coordinates Board and Finance, Fund Development, Nominating, and Scholarship Subcommittee meetings.

· Administers scholarship programs.

· Gains the confidence of volunteers and donors leading to the acquisition of ongoing gifts to the Foundation.

· Promotes the goals and represents the mission of Hillsboro Medical Center to internal and external community.

· Creates and fosters new donor relationships and nurtures current donor relationships.

Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job:

· Analyzes data, researches, collects data, and prepares reports.

· Works effectively with volunteers of diverse backgrounds and ages.

· Takes initiatives in seeking solutions to fundraising challenges.

· Assists in the production of ¡Salud! The Oregon Pinot Noir Auction as on-site support, managing an aspect of logistics in conjunction with event manager and teammates.

Decision making and budget responsibilities (e.g. impact limited to the employee, entire unit or organization-wide):

· Decisions can impact the department and foundation programs.

Education:

Required

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred

Experience:

Required

· Minimum 1 year experience in development or relevant non-profit field.

Preferred

· 2 years of experience in development environment.

· Experience with Raiser’s Edge or another fundraising database.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:

· Current Oregon or Washington driver’s license.

· Demonstrated ability to take initiative, implement and follow through with attention to detail, with minimal supervision.

· Creative problem-solver, solution-oriented, able to stay flexible and professional under the pressure of multiple demands.

· Acts as a team member and supports the success of others.

· Proficient computer skills including word processing, database management, and spreadsheet development.

· Familiar with email and electronic calendaring systems.

· Proficiency in preparing agendas and taking meeting minutes.

· Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple complex tasks and set priorities.

· Must have satisfactory driving record which is described as:

o no more than one (1) accident and two (2) moving violations or

o two (2) accidents and one (1) moving violation or

o no accidents and three (3) moving violations on or off the job within the past 36 months and

o no conviction for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), license suspension, auto felony conviction or other serious violations within the past 36 months.
