JOB SUMMARY

High Point Networks is looking for an outgoing, detail oriented and self-motivated Accounting Specialist. The Accounting Specialist will primarily work to support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions. This role will work with both internal and external customers to provide follow up to accounting related questions in a timely fashion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Review and send accurate customer invoices
Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions
Track and provide updates on accounts receivable activity and aging summary
Monitor accounting board and respond to A/R questions and phone calls
Assess finance charges and send statements
Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line
Assist with Accounts Payable functions such as entering invoices and performing back-up duties for check printing
Collect sales tax exemption forms
Complete vendor forms requested by customer
Maintain accurate records and files
Other accounting/office tasks as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED

2 Year related degree or 3 years of work related experience
Knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable
Knowledge of general accounting procedures
Knowledge of relevant accounting software
Proficient in data entry and management
Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
