Position Summary: As an integral part of the small, flexible corporate HR team, the HR Generalist is responsible for the timely and efficient execution of a wide variety of day-to-day tasks and projects in HR plant operations / HRIS, employee communications, and recruiting. This person will support many of the existing HR processes, helping to streamline and simplify how the work gets done and serving as a resource for the organization. Duties & Responsibilities: Management of site related engagement activities for Plant Production Staff. Lead recruitment for all Production positions and Partner with HR Manager for Semi-Skilled and Skilled. Main point of contact for Ohio site regarding HR related questions (FML/Disability/Leave of Absence/vacation/etc.) for all functions and serve as escalation point and HR Manager for complex cases Supports the site and HR Manager with administering disciplines / corrective / grievance actions Ensures safety and security of the site by managing through leadership for compliance Manages COVID-19/health protocols Optimizes communication for the site in partnership with HR Manager Facilitates full new hire onboarding process and preparation. Assists with involuntary terminations (e.g., employee communication) Coordinates and prepares for onsite visits as needed Assists in site related audits Local resource for job fairs, onsite recruitment opportunities and community engagement events Influences leadership engagement on wellness topics for their people and support these Other tasks as assigned Education: Bachelor's degree (preferably in Human Resources or Business) or equivalent work experience 1 year of HR experience/internships Strong interpersonal and communication skills /Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required. Negotiation skills Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues. Organized and detail oriented. Demonstrated critical thinking ability and a bias for action. Ability to adapt and thrive in fast-moving and changing environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access and Payroll Systems and/or HRIS.
