Under the direction of the Clinic Supervisor, this position is responsible to collaborate with the Company health care team to promote optimal patient treatment and outcomes by using critical thinking, communication and assessment skills. The RN implements patient procedures, tests, medication administration and education as ordered by the provider while adhering to policy and regulatory guidelines of the Company and, participate in an interdisciplinary and inter-facility approach to achieving the mission, philosophy, and goals of the Company. The position reports to the UC Supervisor and is guided by the California Nursing Practice Act. The Registered Nurse will interact with other departments, clinic personnel, and outside providers in a professional and friendly manner, to create and maintain a positive relationship with our internal and external customers.

• Knowledge of basic nursing skills
• Triaging patient problems over the phone.
• Possesses good clinical judgment, careful listening, and critical thinking and assessment skills.
• Appropriate telephone etiquette.
• Must be skilled on what questions to ask, as she/he cannot rely on visual observations or diagnostic test to help make a diagnosis of patient's problem.
• Knowledge to provide patient education over the phone as/when appropriate.
• Knowledge to document in patient electronic medical record.
• Obtain and document all pertinent patient information.
• Anticipate, assist and perform procedures ordered by provider, IPA and staff within scope of practice.
• Delegate patient care duties to support staff as appropriate.
• Maintain patient safety and privacy.
• Reinforce and support patient education programs.
• Maintain patient flow and room availability.
• Stock and maintain examination rooms and nursing stations.
• Ensure that all encounters have been completed properly.
• Maintain all equipment used for patient care and testing.
• Assist with training and orientation of new personnel.
• Supervise patient care performed by Medical Assistants.
• Identify problems, provide solutions and evaluate results as needed.
• Must provide current proof of licensure and BLS certification on an annual basis.
• Must be proficient in Intravenous therapy.
• Assume responsibilities for narcotic medications as assigned.
• Ensure proper handling and documentation of all medication as ordered by the provider.
• Initiate/participate in Code White, Code Blue, and Code Red situations as they arise within the guidelines of scope of practice.
• Be familiar with contents of Communication Book, Forms/Consent Book, Policy and Procedure book, and MSDS.
• Proficient in intravenous catheter insertion, intravenous medication and infusion therapy.
• Proficient in venous access devices (PICC, port-acath) access, infusion, dressing change, maintenance flushing and
  care according to standards and policy.
• Perform CLIA waived and moderate complexity testing and quality control.
• Administer medication as prescribed within scope of practice.
• Capable of obtaining vital signs and knowing parameters of abnormal highs and lows and when to notify a provider.
• Clean and sterilize equipment as necessary.
• Familiar with splinting and DME application as prescribed.
• Competent in Procedures/services offered in the Clinics:
  Ankle Brachial Index
  Specimen – blood, urine, cultures
  Basic wound care
• Ear lavage
  Eye irrigation
  EKG
  TB Skin Test
  Visual acuity
  PFT
  Audiogram
  Blood transfusion
• Other duties as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nurses.
• Current California Licensure.
• Current CPR certification.
• I.V. therapy proficiency.
• Urgent Care staff – current ACLS certification
