Principal
Position Summary
Heritage provides parents and scholars a friendly and orderly academic environment. As an integral part of Heritage Academy, this position will lead all areas of the academy while adhering to all practices consistent with Heritages’ culture, strategy, and values.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provides parents and scholars a friendly and orderly academic environment.
Leads campus activities in the areas of academic, athletics, arts, and administration.
Uses data to measure success and improve performance.
Holds standards and administers corrective action and discipline as needed.
Works with teachers to improve performance and improve academic achievement.
Reports to the Governing Board on strengths and opportunities.
Provides input on continuous improvement plans and ways to strengthen school governance.
Serves on the Governing Board for the school.
Communicates effectively with stakeholder community.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate degree preferred
Experience: 2-3 years of experience as a Principal or Assistant Principal. Experience in an academic setting is preferred
Special Skills:
Excellent communication skills
Professional and friendly disposition
Proficient with computers and office software applications including MS Office tools
Outstanding organizational skills
Knowledgeable in special education practice and law.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Type of fingerprint clearance: Shall be fingerprint checked pursuant to A.R.S 15-512
Physical functions: Must be able to remain in a stationary (standing or sitting) position for 50% of the time; may occasionally move around the campus 50% of the time.
Equipment used: Frequent computer and telephone use is expected.
Work Environment: May be required to move or position equipment up to 10-15 pounds. May be exposed to outdoor weather.
